There will be no club meeting this Monday 3rd October. 

The Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday 25th October at 7:30pm. More details to follow.

Criterium racing hosted by St Kilda Cycling Club returns to Sundays from Sunday 2nd October, at Port Melbourne (Melways Ref 43 C12 – Start in White Street).  $15 entry fee.

Grades C & D start at 8am, Women A & B at 8.45 (if sufficient numbers) and A & B at 9.30am.

Lapthorne wins at New Caledonia!!

Darren Lapthorne continues his rise in the ranks of cycling with a stage win at the Tour of New Caledonia. Darren outsprinted Mathieu De Loarozier (GBNC/PANACH ONE) to take the fifth stage.  A 142km stage between Kourmac-Pourn-Ouegoa in a time of 03:40:56.

Darren is riding for team MGZT (registered as the SPOT team for this tour) in a support role for Robert McLaghlan who was fourth on the stage and currently second on GC.  Darren is in 13th place on GC.  Keep up to date with his progress on:

Congratulations to Paul Logan, who took 1st place in C grade in the grueling 228km Grafton to Inverell road race in NSW last Saturday.

The 2005 Victorian Open Road Championships Close of Entry has been Extended to 12 noon Friday 23rd September.

Details are:

IRTT - Criterium - Road Race
Prizemoney $10,000
Friday September 30 to Sunday October 2
Men/Women
Friday - Women's Crit 30km 11am, Mens Crit 30km 1pm
Saturday - Women's IRTT 27km 10am, Mens IRTT 39km 1pm
Sunday - Women's Road Race 94km 8am, Mens Road Race 142km 11am

Congratulations to Paul Logan who took 3rd place in the Midlands Tour last Saturday.  Read Paul's report here.

Rumour has it that Tom McDonough also took victory in the Masters Division of the Combine Roads Champs at Carlsruhe.  Spud has been placing consistently all season, and this is another great result.

Congratulations to Darren Lapthorne, who took out Stage 9 of the Tatts Cup Tour of the Murray River, out sprinting Brendan O'Connell and international professional Trent Wilson.
