October 23rd 2005

Well done to Darren Lapthorne who finished 9th in the 299km Melbourne to Warrnambool on Sat 22nd Oct.

In the criterium event on the Sunday, Coburg was well represented in the B grade race, with Tommy McDonough finishing 6th and Wayne Gebert 12th.

Pilates - Introduction to Core Strength Training

Marcus Speed is a Pilates instructor who will be running an introduction to Pilates class focusing on core strength training to help improve your cycling.

You will need to bring a towel and mat (if you have one).  Please advise if you require a mat/swiss ball for the evening.


October 4th 2005

Coburg would like to wish Darren Lapthorne all the best in the upcoming Herald Sun Tour.  Darren will be riding with the MGZT team and is the first Coburg rider to gain selection for the race in several years.

Luke will be working as massage therapist for the Dutch National team and will keep everyone updated on Darren's progress.

The Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday 25th October at 7:30pm.  Read more in the October Newsletter.

2006 Licenses are now available!  Members wishing to renew their license or new members wishing to join can complete the membership form found here.  Remember you can join online using our credit card facility.

The Herald Sun Tour starts next Sunday 9th October in Williamstown.

Visit the official website to find out where to catch the action.  New to this year's tour are two events that racing/recreational cyclists can participate in - the 'Dash for Cash' up 'The Wall', and the Gran Fondo ride throughout the Yarra Valley preceding Stage 5.

The ACF is calling for nominations for the 2006 Oceania Track and Road Championships to be held in Wanganui, New Zealand 30 November to 4 December.

Closing date for nominations is Friday 21 October 2005.
